Celebrity publicist-turned-author Aaron Powell explores and exposes the down low Blatino lifestyle through erotic poetry, spoken word and short stories in Behind Concrete Doors: Tales, Poetry, Spoken Word & Revelations from the BLATINO Way of Live on the Down Low.
Behind Concrete Doors is about gay African-American and Latino men living life on the down low. The text is based on fact and actual events, but told in a fictional format through poetry and short stories to protect their identities.
When you are Behind Concrete Doors, you will get all the dirt on what's done in barbershops and get your grind on with your favorite news anchor in the club. Experience the raw emotions of not having to hide your sexual identity and losing a friend to AIDS.
Behind Concrete Doors also features a couple "blind items", tales that expose the down low in the world of celebrity. Try guessing what big-name performer really enjoys oral sex from men in "Hip-Hop Head". Another selection titled "You're Such A Bad Boy" is about an entertainment industry superstar who has a gay fling while he interviews a man for a job at his company.
Here's an exclusive excerpt from Behind Concrete Doors titled "Cut or Uncut ?":
Cut or Uncut ?
By Aaron Powell Before he pulls my head back I say, "Take a little off the top please".
As he comes in closer to shape my line, I rest my hand on the corner of the arm rest to relax.
At that moment I feel weight and warmth surround my hand.
I look up as I smell his double mint breath breeze across my face as he tries to get the sharpest shape and line as possible.
I stare into his eyes as the crotch of his denim brushes up against my hand, and his meat rubs against my knuckles and I wonder, cut or uncut.
Does he realize what's happening?
As he comes in closer to shape my goatee I rub my hand back as if I'm stretching.
Would I get a reaction? As I rub back I feel him harden, wow what a handful.
As he brushes the hair off my face I wonder what just happened. I hand him a twenty and say "keep the change", he responds with a confident "I KNOW I'm gonna see you here next week right?"
"Sure", I say "no doubt", reaching for the door he shouts with a smile and a wink, "I get here really early on Saturday mornings, I open the shop by myself that’s a good time for you to come through, Peace."
