Buck Angel Selected as Board Member by Woodhull Sexual Freedom Alliance

Transgender porn icon Buck Angel has been selected as a board member for the The Woodhull Sexual Freedom Alliance. Angel and the organization will work together to raise awareness about sexual freedom.

The Woodhull Sexual Freedom Alliance's mission coincides with Angel's message of being sexually comfortable in one's own skin. Together they hope to advance an agenda that recognizes the diversity of sex, sexuality, and everyone's rights to make informed, consensual choices.

Buck rose to prominence as the first female-to-male transgender adult film performer. More recently, he has focused on education, advocacy, and motivational speaking, reaching people from all across the globe and the spectrums of gender and sexuality through appearances at universities and numerous events.

One of Angel's first activities in joining the board was to announce that he will be donating 5% from each sale of his newest sex education film, Sexing The Transman XXX to the organization during the entire month of April.

2010 World AIDS Day

Today is World AIDS Day. Originating in 1988, World AIDS Day is observed every December 1st. The day is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic.

Ways in which you can be infected with HIV:

* Unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected person Sexual intercourse without a condom is risky, because the virus, which is present in an infected person's sexual fluids, can pass directly into the body of their partner. This is true for unprotected vaginal and anal sex. Oral sex carries a lower risk, but again HIV transmission can occur here if a condom is not used - for example, if one partner has bleeding gums or an open cut, however small, in their mouth.

* Contact with an infected person's blood If sufficient blood from an infected person enters someone else's body then it can pass on the virus.

* From mother to child HIV can be transmitted from an infected woman to her baby during pregnancy, delivery and breastfeeding. There are special drugs that can greatly reduce the chances of this happening, but they are unavailable in much of the developing world.

* Use of infected blood products Many people in the past have been infected with HIV by the use of blood transfusions and blood products which were contaminated with the virus - in hospitals, for example. In much of the world this is no longer a significant risk, as blood donations are routinely tested.

* Injecting drugs People who use injected drugs are also vulnerable to HIV infection. In many parts of the world, often because it is illegal to possess them, injecting equipment or works are shared. A tiny amount of blood can transmit HIV, and can be injected directly into the bloodstream with the drugs.

How can you contribute in raising awareness about AIDS?

* Find out facts about HIV and talk to your friends, family and colleagues about HIV- make sure they know the reality, not the myths.
* Know your HIV status: get tested if you have put yourself at risk.
* Talk to all new sexual partners about using condoms. Using a condom during sex is the best way to protect yourself and your partner from HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
* If someone tells you they are HIV positive, treat them with respect and don't tell others without their agreement.
* Wear a red ribbon as a symbol of your support for everyone affected by HIV/AIDS and to raise awareness.

The Screaming O Gets It Wrong! Kanye West's Not Behind AskKanye.com

Both AVN.com and XBIZ.com ran articles from (what appears to be) a press release submitted by the company behind The Screaming O sex toy. At face value, it sounds like an interesting story. Kanye West has reignited his beef with Taylor Swift as he gives sex advice on AskKanye.com. West recommends the pop princess to try the Screaming O Vibrating Ring. The problem is... KANYE WEST ISN'T BEHIND ASKKANYE.COM. THE SITE IS PURE SATIRE (per the site's Disclaimer page).

A casual internet surfer who stumbled up on AskKanye.com might believe that the hip-hop superstar is behind the website. So, when one reads this exchange...

Fan: Have you ever used a Screaming O vibrating ring?

Kanye: No. If I want to make a girl orgasm I rap on their clitty. One time I rapped a full 16 bars and the girl passed out and almost died. So now I just stick with 8.

Fan: That sounds dangerous! Let us send you a Screaming O and save someone’s life.

Kanye: Send to someone in need. I recommend this person.

...one might think it's legit. (Which is more than likely what happened to The Screaming O rep that read it). But, upon scrolling down to careful examination of the About and Disclaimer pages. It's evident that the website is pure satire, and has nothing directly to do with Kanye West.

The Disclaimer page reads: "This site is in no way affiliated with any real person. Kanye is made up person. It's 100% satire. That mean's this site is a joke. So don't take yourself so seriously and enjoy it!"

So, after discovering the truth about the website, it's kind of funny to read what the Screaming O rep is quoted to say about the West/Swift situation.

Keith Caggiano: "We all thought the feud was over, but either Kanye's still got some baggage for Taylor Swift to carry or he's reinventing himself as a sex therapist. Whatever it is, we're happy to be on board. Any hot, sex — and legal — pop stars who want to have more orgasms can have their pick of our sex toys. And by the sound of Kanye's attitude, it seems he could use a friend. Possibly even a Buddy. We know just what to send him."

If only there had been a little simple fact-checking done by AVN.com and XBIZ.com, in particular when a press release is dealing with two big music icons.
