In the News :: Step Team Prompts Terror Scare in NYC

The Club Envy Step Team was late for an appearance on BET's 106 & Park. Stuck in rush hour traffic, the teenage members of the Northern Florida dance troupe abandoned their car and ran through New York's Lincoln Tunnel. They had almost made it to the New York side of the tunnel on foot Thursday evening when police spotted them in their camouflaged outfits and called for reinforcements.

Within minutes, the FBI-NYPD Joint Terrorism Task Force surrounded the teens inside the tunnel, weapons drawn.

Brianna Odom (Club Envy coach): "They thought that we were terrorists, some form of terrorists. We were all taken into custody at the police station, and we were held for about two hours being questioned, being verified, made sure that we were who we were, and that the kids had permission to be over state lines. It was a long process."

Instead of performing live on the cable network, the award-winning step team spent the evening being questioned by police. By the time authorities decided not to press charges against the group, it was too late to make it to the show.

In the News :: President Barack Obama to Host MTV Town Hall Special

President Barack Obama will participate in a live, hour-long youth town hall special October 14, 2010 on MTV called "A Conversation With President Obama."

The broadcast will air live and commercial-free on MTV, MTVu, BET, Centric, TR3s and CMT at 4pm ET.

President Obama will address an audience of about 250 young people. Viewers can submit questions live via Twitter.

Mr. Marcus to Appear on BET's The Mo'Nique Show

Porn veteran Mr. Marcus is a hot commodity right now. Marcus just released an instructional book The Porn Star Guide to Great Sex, has a role in the mainstream film Finding Bliss and had a spot as a panelist alongside noted speakers Hill Harper and Ed Gordon in a love and relationships seminar at last weekend's Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.

Mr. Marcus is also a hit... in the clubs. A song by Atlanta-based rapper Nation titled "Mr. Marcus" is a club-banger. The song is also serving as the theme to Marcus' official website.

Mr. Marcus: "I was extremely happy, I was glowing on the inside. I thought, 'This is crazy.' Because there's a lot of rappers out there you will never hear about, there's songs you will never ever hear, and this is one that they're actually playing. That's nice. It's really nice."

Mr. Marcus appears tonight on The Mo'Nique Show @ 11pm on BET.

2010 BET Awards

Kanye West kept his cool... and Chris Brown completely lost it at the 2010 BET Awards.

Mo'Nique won Best Actress and Alicia Keys won twice (Best Female R&B Artist and Best Collaboration).

The show was hosted by Queen Latifah.
