Pleasure P Responds to "Child Molester" Accusations

R&B crooner Pleasure P has taken to the interweb to denounce rumors circulating that he molested a child.

Rumors started a couple weeks ago that Grammy-nominated singer and former Pretty Ricky group member Pleasure P, real name Marcus Ramone Cooper, was involved in a child molestation court case. The rumor that has been spreading also stated that Pleasure P was kicked out of the Hip-Hop/R&B group because of the court case. "Court documents" from the case also appeared on the interweb.

Here's the statement from his website:

All of the recent rumors and accusations that are being circulated about me are 100% false. They are disgusting and vile; and they are being spread by individuals with their own sick agendas. The purported documents that are also being circulated are forgeries. I have never met or known anyone by the name of "AGoldstein" or Laura Goldstein or Ashley Goldstein, which I believe are fictitious names. I have never been represented by an attorney named Goldstein. For someone to go to such depths to assassinate my character and slander my good name is truly criminal. My attorneys are investigating this matter and will take all necessary and appropriate action to protect my name and reputation.

On Vacation (October 23 - 25)

Hello Readers ::

I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be on vacation from October 23 to 25. Regular postings will resume on Monday, October 26.

I will be taking a much needed vacation with friends. We will be visiting the Universal Studios Orlando Resort's Halloween Horror Nights event. This year's theme is "Ripped From the Silver Screen". Jigsaw, The Wolfman, Dracula, Frankenstein and Chucky each have haunted houses dedicated to them at the event.

Race Cooper: A Porn Star with a Brain

Gay porn star on the rise Race Cooper has landed a role in Chi Chi LaRue's seventh (and latest) Black Balled feature. Cooper announced his involvement in the porno on his blog, Race Cooper's XXX Blog.

In the blog post, Race talks about his "reservations" about the project and whether the bangbang scenario (of several Black men fucking one white man) would be a "disservice to men of color".

Here's an excerpt from the blog post:

From my perspective, putting black men in that situation only amplified the 'thug' look as sexual predators, essentially making us look like a pack of wolves, ready to devour some white lamb meat. I expressed my concerns with Chi Chi.... and rather then not acknowledging them, she listened to me. She also expressed that the Black Balled movies, showcased a lot of african-american talent, that other studios tended to overlook. It's a familiar argument, that was reflected in mainstream movies and television for decades. Even though the roles of blacks in film weren't more than inner-city gangs, and bit parts in period pieces as slaves.... at least there were roles. So, I had to admit the same in the porn industry.... even though it's not the best scenario, ultimately I have to applaud Chi Chi for constantly casting men of color, and bucking the trend of only sprinkling blacks in her productions, like chocolate chips in dough. I've watched other productions, with the reverse.... All white guys fucking a black guy..... and the connotation isn't the same. So, perhaps I'm reading too much into the color of people's skin. Rather than just seeing a fun little fuck-fest.

Bravo Race! It's great to know there are some porn stars out there that actually care about the racial and social implications some adult features do have.

Two Years Later ...

Dear Readers ::

Today marks the Second Year Anniversary of Papi Chulo's BLOG. I would like to thank you so much for making this blogging experience a truly wonderful one. This site has come a long way since that first post on Monday, August 27, 2007. The banner, content, writing style and URL have all changed and improved. What do you mean by URL change, you ask? I have to thank each and every one of you for supporting the site and coming back on a regular basis to peep the latest posts and interviews. I've had an incredible time working on this site. I really have a blast updating it and especially working on the In Bed with Papi Chulo interview series. If it were not for you, the In Bed with Papi Chulo interviews would not be the success they are, and I would not have been able to have landed many of the fantastic interviews that I have these past two years.

Since our third year is officially starting, you can expect to see the continuation of the many successful and popular series of posts. There will be more HUMP DAY, SAY WHAT?!? and FLASHBACK posts. I'm a pretty good shopper, so I know that Memorial Day is a great shopping day. But I'm also the child of a proud military family, and I know that we need to make holidays like Memorial Day and Veterans' Day more than just another chance to buy things on sale.

My family has served in the military dating back at least four generations, so I can truly appreciate the sacrifices made by those men and women who have fought so courageously in defense of freedom. Getting deployed changes a family irrevocably, and the veterans returning with injuries -- both the obvious physical ones as well as the invisible psychological ones -- and their families so need our support.

That's why I decided to become the national spokesperson for Beyond Tribute, the first-ever nationwide grassroots initiative specifically focusing on using Memorial Day and Veterans' Day to raise awareness and funds for research, treatment, and support for Armed Service veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other neurological afflictions.

I recorded a short video promoting Beyond Tribute, and I encourage you to watch it. But the most important thing any of us can do is sign the pledge to shop at Beyond Tribute business and event partners over the holidays.

By Veterans Day, we hope to be able to raise significant money for veterans in need from the very businesses that usually capitalize on these solemn holidays. But before businesses will sign on, they need to see that people are committed to truly honoring, and actually helping, former service members.

I'm honored to have the opportunity to do something that helps the hundreds of thousands who continue to suffer the wounds of war long after the fighting on the battlefield has ended. They deserve our thanks, but most importantly, they deserve our help as they struggle to reclaim their lives.
