16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Award Nominees Announced

Late last week, nominations for the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced.

Inglourious Basterds, Precious and Up in the Air received three nominations apiece (including Best Ensemble Cast). On the television side, Dexter, 30 Rock and The Closer each received three nominations.

They also picked up The Bachelor, Dancing With the Stars, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Wife Swap, Supernanny and America's Funniest Home Videos ...

ABC is keeping the prognosis of Samantha Who?, Better Off Ted, The Unusuals, Castle, Cupid and Surviving Suburbia to themselves until their May 19 upfront presentation to advertisers ...

Fans of ABC's Ugly Betty shouldn't be too worried ...

It was reported earlier that the series would be benched so that the network could air Samantha Who? and the new comedy In the Motherhood at the Thursday at 8pm timeslot ... The network wouldn't give a return date for the dramedy so fans worried ...

Well ... ABC is on the verge of renewing Ugly Betty for a fourth season ... In fact the network is eager to announce early renewals for Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, America's Funniest Home Videos and The Bachelor ...

ABC Bumps Betty

ABC has announced that Ugly Betty will be shelved on March 26 to make room for the return of Samantha Who? and the debut of a new comedy called In the Motherhood (starring Megan Mullally and Cheryl Hines) in the Thursday 8pm slot ...

The network also announced that Scrubs and the new comedy Better Off Ted (starring Portia de Rossi and Jay Harrington) will take the Wednesday 8pm slot ...

ABC is trying to go with more of a "cable model" for its programming and scheduling ... It is trying to reduce the amount of reruns it airs ...

Ugly Betty will return to Thursday nights at 8pm following the run of Samantha Who? and In the Motherhood ...

Angie Harmon Joins Samantha Who?

Angie Harmon is joining the cast of Samantha Who? ...

Harmon will play the ex-wife of Christina Applegate's current main squeeze Funk (now played by Billy Zane) ...

Rumor has it that Harmon's Gigi "plays a critical role in the show's mythology" ...

Does this mean that crazy Gigi is the person that ran Applegate's Samantha over and caused her amnesia? Scandalous!

Samantha Who? was supposed to return on Monday, January 12 ... but ABC has benched the series for extended episodes of The Bachelor ...

This has left fans saying ... "Samantha Where?" ...

ABC hasn't announced when the comedy will return ... more than likely it will return when Dancing With the Stars returns in March ...
