Regis Philbin to Receive Lifetime Achievement Emmy

The Daytime Emmys have announced that Regis Philbin will be this year's recipient of their lifetime achievement award ...

Peter Price (President of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences): "Regis Philbin has perfected the unscripted, spontaneous banter that has now become a staple of the talk-show genre. Dozens of shows have tried to duplicate it over the years, but no one does it better than Regis."

Philbin will be presented with the award on ABC's telecast of the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards airing live June 20 ...

Philbin of course is the prolific host of ABC's Live with Regis and Kelly ... and has won three Daytime Emmys in the past ... one for hosting Who Wants to Be a Millionaire ... one for hosting Live with Regis and Kelly ... and one for his work covering Walt Disney World's Christmas Day Parade special in 2006 ...

This summer Philbin will host CBS' Million Dollar Password ...

The Emmy Awards just ended ... and I must say there were some surprise winners! You can view a complete list of the winners below ...

As for the show ... It was sorta blah! Kudos for the awards show going green ... But I truly hated the set design this year ... theatre-in-the-round ??? and Ryan Seacrest as the host? Ick! I guess it truly was on FOX this year (LOL) ...
