Friday Night Lights Returns for Two More Seasons

NBC has signed a new deal with DirecTV to bring Friday Night Lights back for two more 13-episode seasons ...

Star Kyle Chandler spilled a few secrets on how the new seasons will play out ...

Kyle Chandler: "Coach has been moved into the poor part of town, and we have no pool to draw from for a football team. I think it opens up [the show] to be far more representative, having more Hispanics in the show, Blacks in the show. And then also just being the underdogs going up against my old show where my wife is still principal."

Many current castmembers (such as Taylor Kitsch, Minka Kelly, Zach Gilford and Adrianne Palicki) play graduating seniors and are likely not to return ...

Kyle Chandler: "They told us that that was going to be the case when we started the show—that people weren't going to stay on the show for seven years and be freshmen. People who have gone off the show, they knew what was going on. It does give a chance for new people to come on and for the show to be far more organic in that way, although some of the folks who are leaving I really wish they weren't, obviously."

Season three of Friday Night Lights is currently airing Fridays @ 9pm on NBC ...

NBC's Lipstick Jungle Could Survive Cancellation

NBC's Lipstick Jungle has never been a ratings sensation for the network ... But it appears the show may survive to see a third season ...

The network is in talks to air the series' third season on another network says one of its stars ...

Lindsay Price: "Bravo or Lifetime ... That's what they're saying ... Or they're talking about maybe doing what they did with Friday Night Lights—airing on DirecTV and then later on NBC."

"Passions" Might Still Survive!

The stars have already confirmed it ... now NBC Universal has officially confirmed that Passions has been canceled by DirecTV ...

Here is NBC Universal's official statement ...

We are pleased to announce that DIRECTV has ordered an additional 52 episodes of Passions so that fans will continue to enjoy brand new episodes of the show through Summer 2008 when Passions will conclude its run on DIRECTV. We're excited that we can continue to bring more drama and excitement to fans and give them a chance to keep up with the intensifying storylines as they unfold over the next few months.

Variety reports that Passions may live on in 2008 ... either on NBC Universal's newly acquired Oxygen Network ... or as an online soap ...

"Passions" Has Been Canceled ... Again!

Rumors have been floating about online that the campy soap Passions has been canceled again ...

Well ... the rumor has been confirmed by Liza Huber (Gwen) ... In a posting on her official webboard she states ...

Hi Everyone, Yes, it is true that Passions will finish taping at the end of March 2008. We will start airing 3 days a week on DirecTV which should last through summer of 2008. It has been a wonderful ride (although Gwen has completely lost her mind!) and I want to thank all of you for your amazing support for Passions through the years!

For the past eight years ... NBC's Passions has truly entertained ... with its outlandish plots ... hilarious spoofs ... and twisted tales ...

Today it aired for the last time on NBC ... In just 10 days it moves to its new home on DirecTV ...

The NBC Finale answered some questions ... and created some new ones that I am sure will be answered on DirecTV ...

The past couple of weeks leading up to today have been great ... Theresa and Ethan finally got married ... Vincent was exposed as the blackmailer and as Eve and Julian's long lost child ... Alistair returned (from the dead) ... Alistair confirmed that Beth was alive as well ... Alistair killed Chad ... Whitney and Miles left Harmony ...

And then today ...

Guilty Pleasures :: PASSIONS

A guilty pleasure is something that you like to indulge in, but don't really tell anyone about it because they will probably make fun of you for doing it.  A guilty pleasure can range from eating a pint of Ben & Jerry's at midnight to collecting unicorn sculptures to watching a specific show religiously.  It could also be visiting a favorite strip club on a regular basis or collecting stuffed animals or watching Saturday Morning Cartoons when you are 30.

My guilty pleasures are predominately television oriented.  I am a fan of a few shows that I don't usually feel the necessity to publicize (LOL) ... But since I started doing this blog ... I've always wanted to talk about my guilty pleasures ... because I am sure everyone has their share of guilty pleasures ... It's only human ...

I first learned about Passions in the summer of 1999 ... NBC was airing a lot of commercials giving a sneak peek at their new daytime soap ... I had read a few articles that this soap was going to be unlike other soaps ... besides the usual drama ... it would add a supernatural twist ... the soap would have it's very own resident witch ... the tv previews ... and the synopsis that I read had intrigued me ... So I check it out when it premiered on July 5, 1999 ... and I was instantly hooked ...
