Men in Trees is currently occupying the Wednesday @ 10pm time slot ... and Boston Legal has always occupied the Tuesdays @ 10pm time slot during the regular season ... But ... ABC is going to try giving Women's Murder Club a shot on Tuesdays ...
Women's Murder Club returns with new episodes on Tuesday, April 29 @ 10pm ... The show will air for three weeks in that time slot ...
Boston Legal will move to Wednesdays @ 10pm as of Wednesday, April 30 ... The show will end its fourth season in the time slot ...
Men in Trees will go on hiatus starting April 30 and return on Wednesday, May 28 @ 10pm ... once Boston Legal concludes its season ...
I can understand that ABC is trying to save Women's Murder Club ... which is a great new series ... But I hope the Wednesday move doesn't kill Boston Legal ...

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has recognized episodes of Law & Order: SVU and Boston Legal, two Lifetime television movies and documentaries from Showtime and CNN to be among its inaugural recipients of its Television Academy Honors ...
The awards bring recognition to programming that deals with current social issues ... such as the Iraq war, teen sex, the environment and religion ... in a "compelling, emotional and insightful way" ...
John Shaffner (TV Academy Chairman and Chief Executive): "We received almost 200 entries following the announcement of the Television Academy Honors and our call for entries this past December. It was very difficult to narrow them down to a final group of honorees. However, we felt the shows and movies we selected best represent what this honor stands for—programming that enlightens, educates, creates awareness and instigates positive change regarding a wide range of social and health issues."
The following television productions will be presented with the first-ever Television Academy Honors at the May 1 ceremony ...
* James Gandolfini's collaboration with HBO on the interview special Alive Day Memories: Home from Iraq, in which the Sopranos star sat down with U.S. servicemen and women to hear their stories * Boston Legal, for consistently taking on controversial issues such as euthanasia, immigration, race relations, sex education and other often volatile subjects
* Law & Order: SVU, for the episode "Harm," which involved a case that led back to the government-sanctioned torture of a suspected terrorist
* Girl, Positive, a Lifetime movie starring Jennie Garth as the mother of a teen who finds out the boy she slept with is HIV-positive
* God's Warriors, a three-part CNN documentary examining religious fundamentalism
* Pictures of Hollis Woods, a CBS Hallmark Hall of Fame feature about a troubled girl dealing with her foster mother's Alzheimer's disease
* Planet Earth, the 11-part Discovery series that made a case for having hi-def in all homes with its intricate look at Earth's ecosystems, climate, animal behaviors and other natural systems * Side Order of Life, a Lifetime original series in which one of the main characters learns she has cancer and decides to make the most of her life
* Shame, a Showtime documentary examining human rights violations, particularly crimes against women.

Desperate Housewives returns on April 13 with 5 all-new episodes ... plus a 2-hour season finale on May 18 ... Grey's Anatomy returns to its regular timeslot on April 24 with 5 additional episodes ... Boston Legal returns on April 8 with 6 new episodes ... Ugly Betty returns on April 24 with 5 more episodes ... Freshman hit Samantha Who? returns on April 7 with 6 brand-new episodes ...
Also returning ... Brothers & Sisters will get 4 additional episodes ... Those episodes will start airing on April 20 ... and LOST will get an additional 5 episodes added to the current batch ... The series will go on hiatus after episode 7 (on March 13) and return on April 17 with episode 8 at its current timeslot ... Then it will move to 10pm on April 24 to air the 5 additional episodes ...

Why?
Well ... most of the programs on ABC are serialized dramas ... and they don't repeat well (meaning their encores do not attract viewers) ... and since most of ABC's serialized dramas are almost plum out of episodes ... The network had to make sure to place their new midseason series in a proper timeslot so to attract viewers ...
Probably the most anticipated piece of ABC's midseason schedule is the placement of LOST on that schedule ... For its first three seasons ... LOST has occupied all three timeslots on Wednesdays (8pm, 9pm and 10pm) ... For its fourth season ... LOST will anchor Thursdays at the primo 9pm slot (currently occupied by ABC's #1 hit Grey's Anatomy) starting January 31 ...
Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann premieres with a special two-hour episode on Monday, January 7 @ 8pm ... followed by 90-minute episodes through January ... Samantha Who? will return with original episodes in February @ 9pm ...
