James Zinkland: "I was okay with it, I was comfortable with it, I was very open with it, but I didn't want to bring it out on the show because a lot of people are homophobic. Even with the bisexual thing, people were like, 'Ooh.'"

Tonight was the premiere all us Big Brother fans have been waiting ... The first winter-edition of Big Brother!
This year's twist is "soulmates" ... Each houseguest took a variety of personality exams prior to entering the house and Big Brother hooked them up with a "soul mate" as their partner in the game ...
So the "soulmate" pairs are playing as couples in the game ... If one wins Head of Household (HoH) then they both win it ... If one wins the Power of Veto (PoV) then they both win it ... etc ...

Big Brother producer Allison Grodner announced the rule changes and big twist for Big Brother 9 ...
The big twist is that the producers for the show did compatibility matches on each of the prospective contestants and found eight couples who CBS believes are "soulmates" ... The duo will compete as a team ... which means receive veto together ... HoH together ... get evicted together ... etc ... It isn't clear how long this team aspect will be in play ... but I'm sure its safe to assume at some point it will be every player for themselves ...
Grodner also stated that the heat inside the Big Brother house is going to go up ... Past seasons had contestants living in an air-conditioned house ... this year the house is going to be kept nice and warm to coincide with this being Big Brother's first "winter" season ...

The show will air three times a week (as it usually does over the summer) ... It will air Tuesdays (at 8pm) ... Wednesdays (at 9pm) and on Sundays (at 9pm) ...
Early rumblings have fans wondering how this season will differ from the past ones (besides the new spring setting) ... There will probably be no "America's Player" role ... and there will probably be no connections between houseguests ... Everything else is probably fair game ...
