BET Breathes Life Into The Game

Tia Mowry Hardrict, Brittany Daniel, Pooch Hall, Coby Bell and Hosea Chanchez were on a plane last night heading from Los Angeles to Atlanta to tape an episode of BET's The Mo'Nique Show. Apparently an official announcement will be made soon that the cable network has picked up the axed CW series The Game for an official fourth season.

The rumor is that the show may be taped, instead of Los Angeles, in Atlanta. The move will help save production lots of money.

BET to Air Michael Vick Reality Show

BET will feature Michael Vick in an eight-part documentary-style reality show to air early next year.

The Michael Vick Project (tentative title) will follow the newly reinstated footballer as he joins the Philadelphia Eagles, rebuilds relationships with his fiancée and kids and attempts to make amends for his 2007 arrest.

Michael Vick: "I just want people to really get to know me as an individual. What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I've made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it's not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up."

2009 BET Hip-Hop Award Nominees Announced

Nominees for the 2009 BET Hip-Hop Awards have been announced.

Kanye West leads the nominees with nine. Jay-Z and Lil Wayne are behind West with seven nominations apiece. T.I. received six. DJ AM also scored a posthumous nomination for DJ of the Year.

Ice Cube will be the recipient of this year's I Am Hip-Hop Icon Award.

Mike Epps hosts the awards show on October 27, 2009.

Drake, BET Apologize for BET Awards Performance

Drake has been getting a lot of criticism for his 2009 BET Awards performance of "Every Girl" ...

Drake performed alongside Lil Wayne and Young Money ... The trio performed a medley that included the songs "Best I Ever Had" and "Every Girl" ...

"Every Girl" is a song about sexual escapades with multiple girls around the world ... During that portion of the song Drake appeared onstage with several underage girls ...

Drake: "That, actually -- to be honest -- was a terrible idea that I'll never do to myself again. But I was being pressed from different areas to perform, and I think what really happened at the BET Awards is with the passing of Mike, the climate really changed, as far as the award show goes. I don't think it called for us to perform 'Every Girl' and 'Always Strapped,' and I think it was an award show filled with tributes and music and these genuine heartfelt speeches. And to sort of climax out of a very tongue-n-cheek point, and then people misconstruing Wayne's daughters and her friends coming out on stage -- it was just timed very poorly and it definitely wasn't planned like that, but with that being said, it is what is. I believe in Wayne and myself and it's nothing we can't bounce back from. To anyone who was offended, my personal apologies, it wasn't intended to offend anybody."

Did Jay-Z Yank Chris Brown's BET Awards Performance?

Chris Brown is allegedly fuming mad at not being able to perform at Sunday night's BET Awards ... and rumors are swirling as to why he didn't perform ...

Apparently producers pulled his performance at the last minute ... Brown's appearance was seen as "risky" because he is still facing negative publicity over his assault charge ...

Brown's absence at the awards came at the insistence of the Reverend Al Sharpton ...

Al made such a fuss to the BET executives that they pulled Chris. Jay-Z is a big name in the BET community, and he was very vocal about his displeasure with Chris attending the ceremony. He didn't want Chris anywhere near the awards so close to the court's ruling.

Brown isn't happy about not being able to perform ...

He's furious. BET asked him to perform and waited until the last minute to tell him it was off. He's pretty shocked and outraged right now.

The 2009 BET Awards aired last night with Jamie Foxx as host ...

The event became a celebration of the King of Pop ... It included tribute performances, heartfelt words ... and a surprise appearance by Michael Jackson's sister Janet ...

Jamie Foxx: "We are here for the greatest. There's no need to be sad."

New Edition kicked off the night with a medley of the Jackson 5's hits (including "I Want You Back", "ABC" and "The Love You Save") ...

Beyoncé performed a medley of "Ave Maria" and Sarah McLachlan's "Angel" ... Ciara took on Jackson's "Heal the World" and Queen Latifah performed with Mary Mary on the gospel duo's "God in Me" ...

Ne-Yo performed of the King of Pop's "Lady in My Life" ... Foxx and Ne-Yo closed the show with the Jackson 5's "I'll Be There" ...

Just before Foxx and Ne-Yo's duet ... Janet Jackson addressed the crowd ...

Dorion's ex posted information on Sammie, Trey Songz, Mario, Michael B. Cox and Tyson Beckford ...

Rumors of Dorion's sexuality started on the BET reality show ... He has always denied the rumors that he was gay ...

The hacker changed Dorion's password so that the model/actor could no longer log into his account ... Twitter has deleted the offending material and returned the account to Dorion ...

Dorion was interviewed by radio host Charlamagne about the Twitter hacking, the nude photos and his sexuality ...

First Avenger will be set in World War II and have Captain America fighting against his archnemesis Red Skull ...

The film will more than likely set up Marvel's Avengers movie ... explaining that Captain America was only frozen to be defrosted in modern times to become the leader of the superhero team that includes Iron Man, the Hulk and Thor ...

Barack Obama's half-hour campaign ad brought in more viewers Wednesday night on each of the three broadcast networks (CBS, NBC and FOX) it aired on than either Pushing Daisies (ABC) or America's Next Top Model (CW) brought to their respective networks ...

Overall ... Obama's ad averaged a combined 26.3 million on CBS, NBC and FOX ...

Adding in MSNBC, BET, Univision and TV One ... and the ad was viewed by 33.6 million viewers overall ...

On cable Obama received his biggest audience on MSNBC (3.5 million) ... On network television Obama recieved his highest numbers on NBC (9.8 million viewers) ... then CBS (8.6 million) and Fox (7.9 million)

As far as the counterprogramming ... ABC's Pushing Daisies averaged 6.8 million and CW's America's Next Top Model drew 3.5 million ...

The same night his ad boosted the broadcast network audience ... Obama's appearance on The Daily Show saw the 12-year-old Comedy Central faux newscast bring in its biggest audience ever ... 3.6 million viewers ... breaking the previous viewership record set three weeks ago when Michelle Obama was the featured guest ...

R. Kelly's First Post-Trial Interview

R. Kelly sat down with BET News' Toure for his first post-trial interview ...

In the half-hour interview that aired last week ... R. Kelly talks about the trial and the nearly his life during the nearly 10 years after the initial accusation ...

R. Kelly: "I have some 19-year-old friends. But I don't like anybody illegal, if that's what we're talking about, underage. To be honest, I felt like I was in jail the last seven years. A lot was taken away from me ... It was hell. I wouldn't wish it on nobody."

Kelly spoke about how he has been blackmailed several times in his career ...

R. Kelly: "When you're me, when you're R. Kelly, everybody wants a piece of you, and if you don't give 'em a piece they'll find a way to get a piece of you one way or the other. I've been blackmailed a billion times in my career—before the trial, during the trial, after the trial ... I've been sued for stuff that—ridiculous things, you know. At one point in my life, I was an ATM machine ... People would come up and push whatever, and if it don't come out they'll go tell somebody this or they'll go run and say this, run and say that. I'm used to that."

BFFs Bow Wow and Omarion Walk Out of Interview!

BFFs (best friends forever) ... Bow Wow and Omarion (the new it couple?) stormed out of the room after being asked "lame" questions by BET's Touré ...

Rod 2.0: Beta dished all the dirt ... At some point during the interview ... pop culture television journalist Touré disrespected Bow Wow by telling him that rapper Lil' Wayne's chain is "a lot bigger than his" ... and then asking Omarion if he stole some dance moves from Chris Brown ...

As if it couldn't get any worse ... Touré then performs an over-exaggerated yawn as Omarion is responding to a question ... and chastises Bow Wow for answering his iPhone during the interview ...

Here is a brief transcript detailing what occurred after that ...

BOW WOW: You pay my bills, bruh? That's real talk, bro. Don't ask my man does he take moves from Chris Brown and don't ask him disrespectful questions about "Naked." That's real talk.

The interview discussed Black men in the adult industry and how they are tied to the sexualized racial roles such as being over-sexed and over-endowed ... Lex said that he gains an advantage as a company owner and a performer ... by identifying ... analyzing ... repossessing ... and owning those stereotypes ...

Lexington Steele: "The work we do in the adult industry isn't for everyone.
