Gladiator Dan Clark Talks 'Roids in New Book

Former American Gladiators star Dan Clark discusses his use of steroids during his Gladiators tenure in his new book Gladiator: A True Story of 'Roids, Rage, and Redemption ...

Clark loved the power the drug gave him ... Well until he found out the muscle-enhancing drug made him grow man-boobs, shrank his dick and turned sex into a quite painful experience ...

Dan Clark: "Bitch tits, man boobs, breast-chesticles is what they're called on the street. Gynecomastia is the scientific name. No matter what you call it, I [had] it. I hate[d] taking off my shirt. For photo shoots, [I'd] wet my nipple with spit ... [to] look firm instead of hanging down."

Clark shot seven seasons of American Gladiators as "Nitro" from 1989 to 1996 ... He begged a wardrobe stylist to create a new uniform for him ... He didn't tell her it was to "hide [his] budding breasts" ... Clark eventually underwent reduction surgery ...

Clark used steroids for 20 years ... Besides enlarging his pecs into breasts ... The drug shrank his privates ...

Dan Clark: "My balls never really regained their size. They're kind of shriveled."

The steroids also gave him a "dull throbbing pain" every time he had sex ...

The 44-year-old author said that when he first started injecting steroids he gained 32 pounds of muscle in 10 weeks ... He topped the scales at 262 lbs ...

Dan Clark: "The treacherous steroid path. I always thought I could handle it. But the drug handled me. Easily and completely ... I was never big enough or strong enough for myself."

Clark is a consultant on the new version of American Gladiators ...

Alex Castro: "At age 19, I escaped from Cuba with my three best friends and my cousin. We were on a boat, my father's boat, and, there was a very bad storm. My cousin died and so did two of my three best friends. We were rescued by the Marine Corps and that was one of the reasons that I later joined."

The Golden Globes ratings dropped 70% from last year ... In 2007 20 million viewers watched the glitzy awards show ... This year ... sans an actual show ... beaten down to a one-hour Access Hollywood-style news conference ... The not-so-glitzy awards show drew a weak 5.8 million viewers ...

The dressed-down awards show was carried live by a variety of networks ... in a 30-minute press conference version on CNN ... E! and TV Guide Channel ...

The two-hour Dateline NBC special that aired prior to the news conference ... that featured interviews with the nominees ... drew in an average of 4.4 million viewers ...

The American Gladiators re-run that aired after the news conference ... received 4.3 million viewers ...

The big winner of the night was the FOX network's series premiere of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles ... The premiere averaged 18.3 million viewers ...

Writers' Strike :: Globes "Show" Turns Into News Conference

The stars won't be out ... the red carpet has been rolled up and stored away ...

The Golden Globes will proceed as announced but not in its usual way ...

There won't be a big flashy production featuring celebrity presenters and acceptance speeches ... With a SAG boycott and WGA protest ... the Hollywood Foreign Press decided earlier this week to cancel its awards dinner and its three-hour telecast ...

Airing instead will be a one-hour news conference ... a Dateline NBC special ... and an encore showing of an American Gladiators episode ... not in that order ...

Although the awards show has been canceled ... Writers Guild of America members will still be picketing the news conference ...

But for now ... NBC is sticking to the above schedule ... From 7 to 9pm it will air Going for Gold ... a Matt Lauer-hosted Dateline NBC special ...

At 9pm NBC will air the Golden Globes news conference ... and at 10pm NBC will air an "encore broadcast" of American Gladiators ...

All of NBC's Golden Globes coverage is being produced by its news division as an attempt to discourage picketers ... which ... unfortunately for the network ... hasn't worked ...

COLT Man Elian Cortez Nabs Mainstream Coverage For COLT Studio

COLT Studio Group has been getting a lot of mainstream attention ever since it was reported online that American Gladiators' Alex Castro once worked for the studio as Elian Cortez ...

Ever since the media announced Alex was a COLT Man at one point ... COLTStudioGroup.com received an unexpected amount of visitors ... the site was temporarily shut down by the massive amount of traffic ...

John Rutherford (COLT Studio Group President): "We had so much traffic from it in such a short amount of time that our servers crashed. We're still receiving a high volume of traffic, but we've made changes to our system to take on the online demand. [Cortez's] photography is not scandalous and very tasteful as all COLT Men photography is. The folks at NBC Universal must have spun their heads when they heard that the online community has been a flutter with reports that one of their performers on the revamped American Gladiators program has a porn past ...

Model Alex Castro ... better known to porn fans as COLT Man Elian Cortez ... will appear as the Gladiator character "Militia" on the program ...

According to COLT Studio ... Elian Cortez appeared in front of Jim French and COLT's cameras a few years back ...

Honestly I think the media is making a big deal out of nothing ... Alex Castro has done nude modeling and solo web work (MuscleHunks.com) in the past ... He has done fitness modeling ... He was in the Cirque du Soleil show "Zumanity" ... He was featured in Playgirl magazine ... and soon will also be appearing on the website MalePerfection.net nude as well ...

American Gladiator producers have already issued a brief statement on the internet chatter ...

So it goes like this, Alex Castro or "Militia" as he is better known in the gladiator world worked in the gay adult industry under the name Elian Cortez for COLT studios. It looks like all he did for COLT was to pose for some nude photos with no involvement in films of any kind. It’s not really my place to pass judgment why someone might do this unless they really needed the money. For whatever reason I really don’t care, whats done is done and we should concentrate on his future as an American Gladiator.
