52nd Annual Grammy Award Nominees Announced

Beyoncé leads the pack with 10 nominations at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. Nominations were announced yesterday.

Taylor Swift received eight nods, while Maxwell, Kanye West and the Black Eyed Peas scored six apiece.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards airs January 31, 2010 on CBS.

50 Cent has met the green-eyed monster. The "Baby By Me" rapper was surprised by his Twelve co-star's fandemonium fame. 50 stars with Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford in the drug drama.

50 Cent: "You should see how the girls go crazy over Chace. I'd see these people standing around, jumping up and down, and I'd say, 'What is going on? Did they see me?' But then I'd see Chace standing outside. I need to get in on that. He was really, really good on set. I mean, he'll make you feel like he's been in that actual drug-dealing lifestyle before."

50 Cent also dished on his (surprising?) friendship with Bette Midler.

50 Cent: "When I met her, I thought I was high—until my grandmother saw me in photographs and saw Bette Midler. She said, 'Baby, you made it! You're doing good.'"

10th Annual Latin Grammy Award Nominees Announced

50 Cent, a Latin Grammy nominee? Believe it.

50 received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Urban Song for his collaboration with reggaetoneros Wisin y Yandel on "Mujeres in the Club."

Overall, Calle 13 leads with five nominations at the 10th Annual Latin Grammy Awards. Ruben Blades, Caetano Veloso, José Feliciano, Daddy Yankee and Bernie Williams were also among the notable nominees.

The awards show will air November 5, 2009 on Univision. It will be broadcast life from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Bette Midler and 50 Cent are friends? Whodathunk?

The gay icons met when Midler's New York Resoration Project and 50 Cent collaborated on the development of a public garden in his childhood neighborhood in Jamaica, Queens ...

Bette Midler: "He never asked how much. He just said, Where do I sign?"

50 will be once again by Bette's side on May 19 for the Restoration Project's eighth annual spring picnic in New York City's Fort Tryon Park ...

But will they perform together?

Bette Midler: "I was hoping we'd sing songs from the Depression, but he's so young that I don't think he knows any of them. I'm going to have to check things out and see what he feels like singing."

Taco Bell is calling 50 Cent "a self-described former drug dealer and hustler" ...

Back in July ... 50 sued Taco Bell for $4 million for trademark infringement after the fast food chain wrote an open letter asking the rapper to change his name to 79 Cent, 89 Cent or 99 Cent for one day as a promotion for their value menu ... In return Taco Bell would send $10,000 to 50's favorite charity ...

Now Taco Bell is filing their own suit calling the previous suit "another of [Curtis] Jackson's attempts to burnish his gangsta rapper persona by distorting beyond all recognition the bona fide, good faith offer that Taco Bell made" ...

Jackson has used his colorful past to cultivate a public image of belligerence and arrogance and has a well-publicized track record of making threats, starting feuds and filing lawsuits.

Eminem has announced that he has returned to the studio to record new material ... and may release a new album by the end of the year ...

Eminem: "I'm concentrating on my own stuff right now, just banging out tracks. The more I keep producing, the better it seems I get."

Eminem protégé 50 Cent said that fans would be "seeing him shortly" ... referring to Eminem ...

50 Cent: "He's working. I spent the weekend at his house. Even though he tries to relax and stay at home, it's impossible for him to stay in."

Over the speakers the beat from Kanye West's new single "Love Lockdown" played ... and 50 began singing the song ... "I'm not loving you" ... clearly a jab at Mr. West ...

I guess 50 is still hurt that he was on the losing end of the great Kanye/50 SoundScan battle of 2007 ... Well he may get his chance at vengeance this year ...

50 Cent's Before I Self Destruct comes out on December 9 ... while West's 808's & Heartbreak arrives on December 16 ...

With an industry that seems album release dates change as quick as underwear does ... well even if the releases remain a week apart ... This December will be very interesting ...

50 Cent apparently doesn't like a good chalupa ... The popular rapper has sued Taco Bell Corp. for "diluting the value of his good name" with a guerilla ad campaign intended to make consumers believe he has endorsed the fast-food chain ...

As the lawsuit puts it ... "Without seeking or obtaining Jackson's authorization, defendant Taco Bell made him the star and focus of its nationwide advertising campaign by using his name, persona and trademark to promote Taco Bell's business and products" ...

The suit originated from the chain's "Why Pay More" campaign ... Taco Bell suggested in writing that 50 Cent change his name to 79, 89 or 99 Cent to help promote the value menu ...

50 Cent: "When my legal team is finished with them, Taco Bell is going to have a new corporate slogan: 'We messed with the bull and got the horns!'"

50 Cent's representative had this to say ...

"This is a sleazy and ill-conceived publicity stunt by Taco Bell's president, Greg Creed, whose disingenuous offer was leaked to the press before it was even presented to 50 Cent's agent yesterday."

Taco Bell promised to donate $10,000 to a charity of the rapper's choice if he agreed to the name change ... Also 50 was to visit a Taco Bell and rap his order at the drive-thru ...

"We know that you adopted the name 50 Cent years ago as a metaphor for change. We at Taco Bell are also huge advocates for change. We encourage you to 'Think Outside the Bun' and hope you accept our offer."

R&B songstress recently made some comments regarding rap music ... Keys told Blender magazine that gangsta rap was created to divide, conquer and hurt the Black community ...

Alicia Keys: "'Gangsta rap' was a ploy to convince Black people to kill each other. 'Gangsta rap' didn't exist."

Keys then went on to say that the notorious Biggie/2Pac feud was fueled "by the government and the media, to stop another great Black leader from existing" ...

Keys recently clarified her statements ... saying that her comments "have been misrepresented" ... Blender released a statement saying they stand by their story ...

50 Cent apparently didn't approve of Alicia's explanation ...

50 Cent: "I don't like Alicia Keys no more ... If she thinks what they consider [to be] gangsta music is [made] to bring black people down, then I think my shit falls into that category. 50 shed the bulk to a "more regular physique" for a new movie called Microwave Park in New Orleans ... He's even growing out an afro ...

50 Cent's ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins is suing him for breach of contract and unjust enrichment ... The woman is the mother of his 10-year-old son ... She is claiming that he is trying to evict them from their Long Island home ...

Tompkins is asking a judge to rule that she has the right to live in the $2.4 million residence 50 bought ... She claims that he promised them a safe place to live and that 50 is paying monthly child support ...

In an exclusive web interview for the magazine ... Fat Joe called 50 a "punk ass motherfucker" who is too frightened to leave his home ...

Fat Joe spoke to Complex magazine's website: "He got shot by people who he knows and he doesn't do nothing about it. He gets criticized by people like Ja Rule, little Ja Rule, and he never even fought him one on one. He's going to come fuck with Fat Joe? Are you serious? He still don't leave his house. Both rappers have been in a heated exchange of words since the video for 50 Cent's "Piggy Bank" featured an animated boxing match between the two ... which ended with the animated Fat Joe being badly beaten ...

Fat Joe responded with the song "Fuck 50" in which he called the rapper "the fakest gangster around" ...

Their feud calmed down ... only to be spark up again when 50 said he would like to "eliminate" Fat Joe from the "rap game" on BET's Rap City ... The following week when Fat Joe was a guest he called 50 a "clown" ...

50 threatens to put Fat Joe's "brains on the floor" in his new single "Southside Nigga (I'm Leavin')" ...

50 Cent To Paris :: "Get the F*ck Off the Stage!"

50 Cent kicked Paris Hilton offstage during a pre-Super Bowl concert last week ...

The incident made Paris break into tears ...

Last Thursday ... Paris hosted a party for 944 magazine in Scottsdale, AZ ... 50 Cent was performing on stage ... When Paris climbed on the stage to dance ... 50 told her to "Get the fuck off the stage" ...

Here is a clip of the purported "incident" ...

As per eyewitnesses ... A shocked and visibly upset Paris started to weep and begged the production staff to let her dance on the stage ... I guess it was a shock for her since in the past they have been captured canoodling together ...

But according to Whoo Kid ... 50's show DJ ... It appears as if the actions were misinterpreted by those at the festivities ...

Whoo Kid: "We ain't that heartless. I know 50 hates Ja Rule and Fat Joe, but he ain't that heartless to throw Paris Hilton ... off the stage."

Whoo Kid also says that the footage being circulated online was actually not from the Super Bowl party ... but from the Sundance Film Festival ... and that 50 booted a security guard off the stage ... not Paris ...

Whoo Kid: "We kicked a security nigga off. That's some security guy that kept jumping on the stage, picking shit up off the stage, pushing people back while we're performing. This dickhead, we didn't even know him. Either he's security or works for the club, he keeps getting on the stage. ... But the video looks so generic, you can't tell. He got on the stage three, four times while we were performing. 50 got so pissed off, he said, 'Get the fuck off my stage.' Then I played 'Wanksta.' The guys was acting like a dickhead."

And 50 didn't tell Paris to "get the fuck off the stage" ... as it was reported in the blogosphere ...

When Paris climbed on the stage ... drawing the attentions of professional camera's lenses and audience member's cellphones ... 50 playfully told her ... "Get off my cameras" ...
