Papi Chulo: First of all ... I want to thank you so much for doing this interview ... How long have you been in the adult industry?

Jay Black: 9 years.

PC: How did you get into the adult industry?

JB: I was walking around Folsom Street festival and came across the Titan Media booth. I was horny from looking at all the hot guys. I had a semi hard on. The guys at Titan noticed (Brian Mills) and asked if I was interested in doing videos. I gave an enthusiastic "yes." One week later I was in their offices getting hard for them, two weeks later I was on my first film set.

PC: How did you come up with your porn name?

JB: Well "Jay" has been my nickname since junior high. I wanted to avoid all of the multiple name games when meeting people, and well I have such dark skin that "Black" was just a given.

PC: Have you always been interested in doing porn?

JB: I was a fan since I was a teenager. I used to mail order porn when I was 18.

PC: What was your first day on a porn set like?

JB: My first film was Fallen Angel III for Titan. It was an amazing experience. I wasn't nervous at all, just really excited and horny. The set was really fun. All of these horny, hot guys meeting each other for the first time. There was as much sex going on off camera as on. I was up for anything. So when I saw that our prop was a scissor lift, I was like, "Let's try to find some really hot positions."

PC: Who has been your favorite scene-mate to work with?

JB: I really loved working with Tag Adams, Sean Storm and Ric Hunter.

PC: What do you enjoy most about filming scenes?

JB: The hot guys and all of the raw sexual energy. I like that I get to fulfill my sexual fantasies.

PC: You have starred in films for some of the biggest production companies in gay porn ... (i.e. Lucas Entertainment, Titan Media, Channel 1 Releasing and Raging Stallion Studios) ... Is there a particular project that has been a memorable experience for you?

JB: Filming Lords of the Jungle for Raging Stallion was amazing. They flew us all out to Hawaii. The scenery was amazing, you felt like you were in paradise. The scenes were really hot. I would go to watch scenes that I wasn't even a part of just to watch all of the hot sex.

PC: On film ... you have been the bottom in a scene ... as well as the top ... Would you classify yourself as a truly versatile performer?

JB: HELL YES. Some times I want to get pounded 'til my eyes roll back into my head, and sometimes I just want to slam a hot ass.

PC: How big is your dick?

JB: 8.5".

PC: What do you enjoy doing sexually?

PC: For someone who's been in the industry for some time ... you don't have many titles under your belt ... are you very selective in the roles you take?

JB: Well I live on the East Coast, so it's a little harder to be thought of for roles when there are so many guys right there on the West Coast. I am also selective. I want to only work with the top directors and top companies whose work I'm a fan of. Sometimes guys come on the scene and make 20 films in 2 years and they get burnt out or over exposed, and you never see them again. Also it's a little harder for Black models to get cast, it's just the nature of the industry. One of the reasons I work so much for Raging Stallion is that they cast a wide variety of models from body type to ethnicity. I give a lot of credit to Chris Ward and Michael Brandon for their casting.

PC: Have you always been a free agent?

JB: Yes.

PC: Have you ever considered becoming an exclusive for a studio?

JB: I wanted to work with all of the directors and companies that I've been a fan of. So I wanted to give myself some options. I know some guys who were exclusive and then broke their contracts. I always want to be as professional as possible and honor my commitments.

PC: What do you think of the representation of men of color in the gay adult industry? Do you feel studios are trying to remedy the lack of diversity of some of their projects?

JB: I think it's a microcosm of the real world. I mean how many Black supermodels are there in fashion or Black A-list movie stars. I think some studios like Raging Stallion and Lucas Entertainment are more prevalent when it comes to casting. Some other studios may have one or two Black models that they like and just use them. It's a business so they cast what sells. I do think that it is slowly changing.

PC: You have gotten drilled by some of the biggest dicks in gay porn ... Is there a particular "monster cock" you enjoyed working with the most?

JB: On screen Chad Hunt was a challenge. I still felt it three days later. Off screen Michael Brandon and Shane Rollins are pretty much perfection.

PC: Do you have a particular preference as to where the pop shot lands?

JB: Face and mouth.

PC: Are there any stars you are looking forward to working with in the future?

JB: Ricky Sinz, Dean Flynn, Damien Crosse and Trey Casteel.

PC: How and when did you lose your virginity?

JB: In college, when I was 19. I was a late bloomer, but I've made up for it.
